Martinsville City Schools was faced with a massive challenge: improve student performance in a very challenging economic environment, or face loss of accreditation. As part of their “Effective Schools” model, they built an IT infrastructure that enabled them to not only provide technology to students and teachers, but be able to target at risk groups’ performance proactively. Now Martinsville City School’s program is a model for school performance; and has earned them recognition by Newsweek as one of the top performing school systems in the nation.
