Bring on the New Year
January is a tough month. Definately one of those glass half full situations. For some it's the tsunami of projects that got backed up during the holidays, and for others, it is a fresh start and a time to look forward.
We're definately choosing the glass half full side of things. As we move into a new year, we are excited to be on-boarding new employees, new industry partnerships and busy planning some upcoming events.
ALI is only as good as the people who work with our clients. So finding really people who really bring ideas, expertise and strong customer service skills is not an easy task. We've been looking hard to expand our coverage, and December brought us two great additions to the team: Jeremy Rasor & Sarah Miller.
Jeremy's prior experience working with technology firms such as Telogis, TransFirst, InteractiveGIS and Verizon have prepared him well for his responsibilities with ALI where he will be focused on developing business for ALI's Brush Mountain Data Center, IT Managed Services and enterprise IT that requires experience with significant complexity and organizational transformation.
Sarah brings a strong base of experience and expertise from her prior positions with Verizon, nTelos, and Lumos Networks where she worked with clients from small local business to very large organizations. She has a proven reputation for helping organizations achieve their goals by enabling them with technology.
New Industry Partnerships:
In the latter half of 2014, we re-established a relationship with storage industry leader EMC. We've always been a fan of their technology, but now that they have some solutions that are optimized and priced for non-Enterprise organizations, it seemed the ideal time to re-ignite that relationship. The cross platform solutions between Cisco and EMC make their solutions even more compelling - and we've already had several very successful EMC storage upgrade projects for several clients. We also became a partner with Pearson Learning North America to support the efforts of our Academic IT practice. We have along track record of working with academic clients, and now we are expanding the services, expertise and the solutions we can offer to schools.
We're not waiting for spring to get out and share information and listen to what our clients are needing. Our calendar of events is starting to shape up, but we already have the following events scheduled and hope you will join us:
Feb 5: "Pints & Pitchers IT Networking" at Bull & Bones, Blacksburg VA Come out and join us from 4:30-6:30 RSVP
Feb 11: David Carter presenting "Balancing Flexibility and Security" (The Risks, The Money & The Rewards) at VT Corporate Research Center RSVP
April 16: Eric Thompson presenting ""Microsoft Azure & Infrastructure as a Service: Field Experience, Tips & Best Practices forAdoption" at SWVA IT Professional's Forum at Roanoke College. Colket Student Center, Room 155 (No RSVP needed)
We have more activities planned, and hope to see you at these and other upcoming events.
LinkedIn is where we post regular updates on technology thought leadership and new technologies, our Facebook page offers some insight into events and activities as well as helping you to get to know our team, and Twitter keeps you updated on all the above (and more) - 140 characters at a time. Most of all, our team is just a phone call away. When you need us, we're here, so pick up the phone and see how we might be able to help you tackle your challenges and goals, both large and small.
Here's to a great 2015!
