BrainShare Wrap up
Cindy DeHart, Novell & Virtualization Practice ManagerIT Central at BrainShare

IT Central was the hub of BrainShare activity as it showcased technologies from Novell, NETIQ & SUSE.   It's where BrainShare attendees can view the latest products, see the  end-user interface, or walk through the administration features.

Available demos and labs are designed for install reviews on nearly every product available.   The product development teams are there to discuss features, wish-lists and talk strategy. The feedback between the development teams and the customers is invaluable and collaborative.   We often learn of new features that we were not aware of; and they certainly hear from us on what features customers want to see added.

I've already discussed the Mobility products in prior updates, and there was a lot of excitement around those products. The ZENWorks product line however did not disappoint and made its usual noise and thunder with several key demonstrations and road-map announcements. Throughout  2013 there will be system updates and service packs released as well as product enhancements.

ZEN Mobile Management will add Mobility Integration and LDAP group support and then later in the year be fully integrated into ZCM as well as add Android application management. ZEN Application Virtualization will have two releases adding Windows 8 support and Secure App containers among other items.   Novell Service Desk will have User Interface enhancements as well as improved ZCM integration.

ZCM will see a host of enhanced features toward the end of the year. All new Reporting features will be as well as audit and compliance improvements for the IT team to report back usage, issues and concerns to Management.  In addition multi-zone management features will be added.   To hear the rest of the list of added features please join our webinar as we will review the full line.

The focus going forward for this line is to move from a device focus to a user focus on managing and deploying what users need to work. The growth in this field is incredible and only a dynamic product like ZEN can provide a full scope of solutions. I think you will be very impressed with what you hear.
